An independent literary consultant and an instructor for online creative-writing workshops in Fundamentals of Fiction, Poetry, and Writing Life Stories, Joyce Wells earned a BA and MA in Developmental Psychology from Oakland University, Michigan, where she volunteered as a peer counselor.  After marrying and raising a son and a daughter, and while working for an executive office group, she returned to her love of writing and received an award in a national short story competition.  She has published poems, essays and storied in anthologies, newsletters, newspapers and national magazines.  She belongs to Romance Writers of America, International Women Writers Guild, and Detroit Women Writers.  She also serves as a judge for a national self-published, mainstream novel writing competition.
